Position: Armed Security Guard

Location: Greenwood, South Carolina (8am-4pm, 4pm-12pm, 12pm -8am) Mon-Fri, Sat &Sun

Responsibilities: Duties include but not limited to:

• Aid in the prevention of vandalism, theft, malicious mischief, trespass, active shooter, or use of facilities equipment.
• Monitoring specific plant equipment, exterior lighting, inspection of fire detection and control equipment.
• Report any unusual incidents or hazardous conditions and provide a written reports covering all incidents at the end of each tour.
• Policing the campus grounds, buildings and parking lots; opening buildings; securing the buildings; monitoring security systems; monitor running equipment; maintaining security booths and security vehicles; posting notices, and other related duties as may be assigned.
• Patrol outside areas which may require use of vehicle, traffic and crowd control, drive patrol car to monitor activity and assist on site.
• Perform inside patrol areas, work schedules, maintain daily activity log and contact personnel.
• Raise/lower flags, monitor condition of the flags and replace as needed.
• Work with college personnel during Fire & Tornado drills and may be assigned to areas to monitor lights.
• Assist visitors and the general public as needed.
• Make deliveries or pick up items on premises.
• Be available to help/handle disciplinary problems with student’s visitors & employees.
• Assist visitors / students with calling for outside help with vehicle breakdown, give general information about the college to students and visitors.
• Ensure that all lights are serviceable and in good working order/notify maintenance of any problems with light.
• Provide excellent customer service skills

Requirements:

• Candidates MUST be able to work day, swings and mid shifts as needed.
• Possess a valid South Carolina Driver’s License.
• Valid Armed SLED license and be TASER certified.
• Candidate must have a High Diploma or equivalent GED and be proficient in MS Office Programs (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
